Security and Control For SAP R/3

his handbook will assist agencies in meeting this obligation by outlining the security and internal
control mechanisms in the form of best practice procedures that can be used by an agency to protect and control
the financial information within the SAP system. This handbook highlights three types of best practice
procedures. These are:
•Best practice procedures considered critical to achieving an acceptable level of control, which if not
implemented will result in significant risks to the organisation;
• Best practice procedures which are considered important to achieving a good level of internal control
but which if not implemented would not result in a high risk to the organisation; and
• Best practice procedures which do not have a significant impact on the overall control environment but
which may assist the control or efficiency of the business process
